Hand-Blown English Antique Glass Decanter c1860
An English hand-blown and cut glass spirit decanter dating to c1860, this piece embodies the elegance and craftsmanship of mid-19th-century glassmaking—functional yet highly decorative, equally suited as a collectible or as a timeless accent in barware displays.
This antique cut glass decanter has a compact, architectural form with strong geometric detailing. The body is short and stout, with flattened vertical panels and deep geometric cutwork that tapers sharply into a straight cylindrical neck, reinforced with an applied collar ring and a flared lip—ideal for easy pouring. The stopper is spherical with faceted cuts, echoing the crosshatched motifs on the body. Its gem-like surface reflects light and balances the strong, squared lines of the vessel.
Minor surface marks and occasional air bubbles are present, consistent with the authentic character of 19th-century glass.
