French Confit Pot Glazed Terracotta

A two-handled terracotta confit pot, traditionally used in the French countryside for preserving foods such as duck or goose in fat. The upper glazed section is a warm golden-ochre hue, leaning toward goldenrod with earthy undertones -the glossy finish gives it depth and vibrancy, while the lower unglazed section is a matte beige-tan clay color, natural and slightly weathered. The contrast highlights the handmade, functional character of the piece.
